Passau – Linz – Wien (Flight to Belgrad)

Wow, these cycle paths are ingenious. I’ve rarely experienced anything like it. Roads for bikes only, as far as the eye can see… for hours right next to the river. As a cyclist, you are more than welcome on this section. And when the road ends and there is no bridge, you naturally think you’ve lost your way again!

But then you take a closer look and suddenly discover a CYCLE FERRY.

Simply amazing. A ferry EXTRA for cyclists!

Along the river route there are always cycle rest stops, cycle taxis and other surprises for cyclists. The whole infrastructure is geared towards two-wheeled tourists.

In Linz, I find funny posts on shops and sometimes somewhat special street signs. Then the trip continuous trough the wine-growing villages along the Wachau and on to the fast cycling road to Vienna via the Danube Island directly to the airport because Hungary closed its borders on 1st September 2020, today is 2nd September 2020.

Therefore, instead of cycling I fly to Belgrade with mask on my face, where I continue my journey towards the Black Sea.
